Subject: Teacher-Librarians

Thanks for sending me this email. It is an out & out lie from the Labor Party - we will not be cutting any teacher-librarians or SASS positions whatsoever. Please tell your friends.

Kind regards

Subject: Restoring cut teacher positions

I am not able to give you any commitment specifically about RFF teaching positions. However I can tell you that since 1995, Labor has increased the number of teaching positions by 2,245 and provided an extra 4,500 schools based support staff.

And I can committ that if elected, a Iemma Labor Government will:

Not cut 20,000 'backroom' positions as the Debnam Opposition have promised to do, some of which will be teacher librarians and SASS staff;

Protect teachers from the Howard Government Workchoices laws;

Retain the NSW Industrial Relations Commission to hear and resolve industrial disputes between employeres and unions;

Recognise and work with the Teachers Federation on industrial matters affecting teachers.

Thank you for your email.
