Principal directionThis is a featured page

My principal loaded me with 18 timetabled classes, in my 4 day allotment (which is DET staffing allocation so they were quite within their rights) so that in effect I had 18 classes in 3 and half days (taking my own RFF and some admin time in the other half day), then having 3 classes for RFF on the fifth day. I do not enjoy RFF or non-integrated lessons, and 18 classes in just over 3 days was a frantic, frustrating timetable.

In a nutshell, the 4 day a week TL allocation with 18 classes does not give
enough time to teach information literacy skills effeciently, or
successfully conduct CPPT units.

I am tired of struggling in a sub-standard building, within a severely underfunded system, with principals who do little to enhance education.

I know how you feel. I had a principal who did not see how the library could enhance education... by her own admission she was 'not a reader'.
Do you find this valuable?

I had a principal who asked me to be in charge of sharpening the coloured pencils for teachers. That was the most positive thing that happened :(
